Janasahajya

Main Aims
The Orissa-based Janasahajya's aims are to make people aware of their rights and responsibilities, to bring them together to fight exploitation, to impart health education using available herbal and other natural resources, and start income-generating programs for all, particularly women. The Janasahajya organizes community development programs, runs campaigns promoting health awareness, education, eco-concern, self-sufficiency for women, etc. It also works to create sanitary living conditions for the people and is active in developing watersheds and wastelands. The tribal communities it works with have benefited from a change in attitude, checking of unhealthy practices, countering exploitation, and rabi cultivation. The group would like to network with other groups in similar fields.
