Aims & Objectives:

The Environmental Education Centre (EEC) promotes general education among rural backward classes, with a special emphasis on educating the girl child. It promotes environmental education, eco-development, and agro-forestry-based industries. The EEC organizes environmentally important days/events in schools, and has developed a curriculum to impart education on environment, health and family life. It also conducts examinations in these subjects for classes V to XII. The group is presently involved in a village eco-development programme under the Social Forestry Directorate, government of Maharashtra. The programme consists of afforestation and water-resource development work on a land area of 90 hectares. The EEC also publishes a weekly journal, in Marathi, devoted to ecology, and books and brochures on the environment.
